Install an alarm:
Alarms from a kit you can install by yourself up to sophisticated connected online system with security firms.
Do not forget to periodically check their correct functioning. |

Secure the windows:
Windows should be protected with bars or with a simple anti-breakage or opening.
Take special care if you have sliding windows. They are re particularly vulnerable.

That you know your neighbours:
Your neighbours should know, having your phone and have some degree of knowledge about his family and customs. They must have enough confidence to call you by phone at midnight if they notice something strange in your house.
Beware of marks:
Some thieves make a mark on the outside of a house they pretend to attack. If a family member or a neighbour notices such a mark, you must remove it immediately. |
Put a armored door in the house:
The idea is to create a safe area, a "safe room" home. Example: If a house has two floors and the bedrooms are on the second one , put the security door at the end of the stairs. This door does not necessarily need to have a key. Just an inside lock. Remember to close it at night!.
As in any "safe room", try to take everything you might need in case of attack: first aid kit, fire extinguisher, some type of weapon, etc
Automatic lighting:
Set lighting systems for presence detection. Avoid the aggressors to prowl and analyze your house. These systems simply illuminate an area to detect movement.
Garage door:
It is one of the most "comfortable" access into your home. The access door to the garage should to all purposes be at the same level of security as the main shield. Think that if the attackers have access to the garage it could be used discreetly to force the entrance door into the house.
Another tip is to always wait for the gate to close before leaving the car and not to open until you are not in the car. |
